This track, carved from the red clay near Haleburg Alabama, began operation in 1967 as Chattahoochee Valley Speedway. Owner and promoter Arthur L. "Smokey" Harris and family operated the track for 6 racing seasons. In 1973 the gates were closed and remained that way for more than 3 decades. In 2004, the track reopened as Chattahoochee Valley Motor Speedway and operated for 3 racing seasons. 2009 marked a new era of racing for Southeast Alabama's fastest, high-banked, 3/8th mile, clay oval. Owners Joe and Renee Hall renamed the track in memory of its founder and once again dropped the green flag on Saturday nights...right where it all began!
